Auto Technician Responsibilities at Suntrup Kia South

As an automotive technician at Suntrup Kia South, your main responsibility will be to perform service, maintenance, and repairs accurately and efficiently. While doing so, you must understand all federal, local, and state laws that govern auto service repair work, as well as dealership and factory standards for quality, speed, and cleanliness. The work generally follows a specific flow:

• After receiving a repair order from the dispatcher, you will take the customer’s vehicle to the stall area.
• If the vehicle has a problem that needs to be addressed, rather than simple maintenance, you will be expected to accurately diagnose the problem. If your diagnostic shows something unexpected (for example, if extra service is needed, if the service will not be able to be completed within the promised time, or if a requested service is not necessary), you will need to immediately let the service advisor know.
• You will then perform the requested service. It is important that you document your work and perform quality checks, including road testing the vehicle. If you need parts during service, you will communicate with the parts department to get the parts. If you are performing warranty work, or if the customer wants the old part, you will be required to tag the old parts and turn them in.

In addition, you will need to attend regular training classes and keep up to date with factory technical bulletins.
