What’s Covered Under the Kia Soul Warranty?

2023 Kia Soul on a Cliff

If you’re looking for a sporty new SUV in the St Louis area, Suntrup Kia South has got the perfect model for you: the Kia Soul! The Kia Soul is a compact crossover SUV with seating for five passengers, excellent gas mileage, and the latest comforts and conveniences inside the cabin. Whether you’re making your daily commute or heading out on a road trip, the Soul can handle it with ease!

One of the highlights of buying a Kia Soul from Suntrup Kia South is access to two outstanding Kia warranty options: the Kia Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty and the Kia Powertrain Warranty. Our finance team has put together a quick guide outlining the Kia Soul warranty coverage below, so check it out!

Kia Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty Coverage

The Kia Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty is also called the Kia Basic Warranty. It covers all the components of your new Kia Soul for 60 months (five years) or 60,000 miles of drive time, whichever comes first, from the date of your first service. However, the Basic Warranty does not cover wear or maintenance items.

Kia Powertrain Warranty Coverage

Once the Basic Warranty expires, the Kia Powertrain Warranty kicks in. As the name suggests, it’s designed to cover a wide variety of components in your Kia Soul’s powertrain, minus wear and maintenance. The Kia Powertrain Warranty covers you for 120 months (ten years) or 100,000 miles, again, whichever comes first, from the date of your first service. Here’s the full list of items covered by this warranty:

  • In the Engine: Cylinder block, cylinder head and all internal parts, timing gear, seals and gaskets, valve cover, flywheel, oil pump, water pump, and turbo charger
  • In the Transaxle: Transmission case and all internal parts, torque converter, drive shafts, universal joints, front hubs, bearings, seals, and gaskets
  • In the Axles: Axle shafts and C-V joints New Vehicle Limited Warranty (couplings), seals, hub, and wheel bearings
  • In the Transmission: Transmission case, transfer case, torque converter, and all internal parts, seals, and gaskets
  • In the Differentials: Front and rear differential assemblies, cases, all internal parts, seals, and gaskets
  • In the Propeller Shafts: Drive shafts and universal joints

Is the Kia Warranty Transferable?

If you’re interested in selling your Kia Soul or buying it from someone else, you may be wondering, “Is the Kia warranty transferable?” Can you pass the benefits of this comprehensive warranty coverage on to the next owner? While you won’t be able to transfer the 100,000-mile Powertrain Warranty to a new owner, you can still pass on the benefits of the Kia Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty.
